16th week of the Pregnancy – Baby size and weight
Baby on the 16th week of pregnancy:
On the 16th week of pregnancy, the size of the baby is about 11 cm and the weight is 100 grams. The mother may begin to feel her movements at the 16th week, but this may be later in the first pregnancy. Babies movements can begin at the 20th week so you should not be bothered if you do not feel the movements yet. Baby’s legs are now more elongated than their arms and very mobile, their movements are more coordinated and stronger. It can hold the umbilical cord. The space in the uterus where the baby can move is now wider. Baby’s nails are well developed. Your baby’s head can now be upright. Baby boy or girl gender can usually be detected by ultrasonics in these weeks. The baby’s skin is still very incised and blood vessels beneath can be seen.

During the sixteenth week of pregnancy, some mothers start to feel baby movements, especially in the second and subsequent pregnancies.
