8 Weeks Pregnant – Week by Week

Eight Weeks Pregnant and Ultrasound
8th week of the Pregnancy – Baby size and weight

Baby on the 8th week of pregnancy:

In an eight-weeks pregnant, the baby’s size is about one and a half centimeters (1.5 cm), and the weight is only 1 gram.
In the eighth week baby’s hands and feet begin to form. The fingers are sticky like duck feet and will be separated in the following weeks.
The face, eyes, nose and ears continue to shape. The buds that will form the teeth in the future under the palms begin to form so early. In the future, internal genitalia begin to develop which will form testicles or ovaries. Baby’s back muscles begin to become evident around the spine. The bones start to harden. The umbilical cord (connecting the mother and the baby) and the vessels in it begin to work. In the eighth week, baby’s skin is still very incised and transparent. The color pigments in the eyes begin to develop this week. The eyelids are developed, but the covers are not opened until the 26th week and the eyes remain closed.
Even though the body details of the baby can not be clearly selected at the ultrasound,it is imposible to say that gender of the baby he or she. But heartbeat can be clearly seen.

Mother on the 8th weeks of  pregnancy:

During the eighth week of pregnancy, the size of the mother’s uterus is doubled to normal, but the pregnant’s belly is not apparent from the outside. As the uterus grows, it exerts pressure on the urinary pouch (bladder) and the bladder can not expand too much, so the sac quickly fills and the mother often starts to pee. The pressure on the bladder will decrease in the following weeks. Feeling tired, exhausted and constantly sleeping is a common symptom these weeks. If nausea and vomiting are unbearable, you can apply to your doctor, medication or, if necessary, serum treatment will provide relief. You can find the recommended and detailed information about the reduction of morning nausea and vomiting by clicking here. It is too early to be able to see the baby’s gender at the ultrasound, so we don’t need to be hurry for any preparations. There are no special tests that people who have had routine tests at the beginning of their pregnancy will do this week. You may be required to take a double test at the time of your next examination (week 11), you can get information from your doctor about the benefits and necessities and think for a further examination.
