Hydrocele is the accumulation of fluid around the baby’s testicles. Sometimes it can be unilateral or sometimes bilateral. Diagnosis can be made by ultrasonography performed during pregnancy examination. In the last months of your pregnancy, approximately 15% is encountered. Most of them are unilateral, about three-in-one.
It is noticed that the baby is swollen in testicles at birth.
It usually returns spontaneously after birth. Surgery is required if it does not return normally even after passing months after birth. It usually takes about 1 year for this. Occasionally, inguinal hernia accompanied by hydrocele of baby may also be present, in which case the operation is performed together with the hernia operation.
